Macramé Workshops with Steph – Thrive with Craft
Join Steph for a beginner-friendly macramé workshop where you’ll learn the essential knots and techniques to create your own iconic plant hanger. Steph will guide you step by step, sharing her expert tips and tricks to help you craft a beautiful, handmade piece to take home.

Workshop 1 Ceiling Plant Hanger

Come along and learn how to make the iconic macrame hanger.  In this beginner friendly workshop, you will learn basic knots and techniques to craft your own beautiful plant hanger.  You will be guided by Steph who will share her top tips and hacks to get you off to a flying start.

You will create your plant holder from recycled cotton cord and wooden ring

In this 2 hour introduction to macrame you will learn:

Types of cord and how to prepare them

Larks head knot

Square knot

Wrapping knot

Spiral knot

Learn how Macrame can encourage mindfulness, patience and wellbeing and start your knotting journey.  Bring your favourite pot and we’ll customise your hanger to fit.

Workshop 2 Christmas Tree

Join us for a creative Christmas macrame experience! In this beginner and intermediate friendly workshop, you will learn basic knots and techniques to craft your own beautiful wall hung Christmas Tree.  You will be guided by Steph who will share her top tips and hacks to get your macrame journey off to a flying start.

You will create your wall hanging in dark green from recycled cotton cord and will be able to embellish with a choice of rescued materials (or bring your own).

In this 3 1/2-hour introduction to macrame you will learn:

Workshop 3 – Wall mounted potholder

It’s a plant hanger but not as you know it! Come along and learn how to make the alternative macrame hanger. 

In this beginner or intermediate friendly workshop, you will learn basic knots and techniques to craft your own beautiful wall hung potholder.  You will be guided by Steph who will share her top tips and hacks to get you off to a flying start.

You will create your potholder from recycled cotton cord and wooden dowel.
